Cactus in Bloom (CIB) seeks to fill the gap in the overall mental health and wellness care for those who are survivors of sexual violence and childhood sexual abuse (CSA) who are family planning, pregnant, postpartum, and parenting 0-5 year olds.
WHAT WE DO?
Research, Education, and Consultation:
We aim to gain a clearer picture and understanding of the needs, intersecting identities, and experiences of CSA survivors and their care while family planning, pregnant, postpartum, and parenting. We offer professional development opportunities such as training and consultation support for care providers. In order to also help reduce re-traumatization and increase a sense of welcome and regulation, CIB offers environmental assessments and re-design services for client/patient spaces such as OBGYN waiting rooms.
Direct Service Support:
At CIB we know it is important to develop the research and to offer specialized direct support. As a result we offer planning & parenting support, workshops, groups, and special events. In addition we are developing a new perinatal and infant care course. CIB develops various events organized in collaboration with our partner organizations in order to reach a diverse range of survivors.
